About Ina & Our Vision
At the heart of our journey is Chef Ina, a celebrated Indonesian culinary artist from Java, with roots reaching back to the ancient Majapahit Kingdom in Yogyakarta. Her journey in the kitchen began at just 10 years old, helping at her grandmother's legendary restaurant in Semarang. Her grandmother was renowned throughout Central Java for mastering more than 3,000 distinct dishes from across the Indonesian archipelago. This extraordinary culinary heritage profoundly shaped young Ina and became the foundation of her lifelong passion for Indonesian cuisine and culture.
As an adult, Chef Ina successfully owned and managed several restaurants in Jakarta, where she perfected the art of authentic Indonesian cuisine. Before arriving in Labuan Bajo in March 2025, she further developed her expertise by leading cooking classes at Villa Lantai in the affluent ski resort community of Park City, Utah, USA. This experience strengthened her belief that food can create meaningful connections and unforgettable memories an approach that now shapes the personalized Indonesia Tours we offer.
Today, Chef Ina brings her experience, creativity, and passion to Labuan Bajo, focusing on immersive Cooking Classes inspired by Indonesia's rich culinary heritage and thoughtfully designed cultural travel experiences. Her passion for sharing Indonesian food and traditions forms the foundation of our unique experiences.
